Joined October 1985. Our MD Paul Williamson has been buying and selling businesses at Ernest Wilson since joining us in 1985. His vast knowledge of the business transfer and commercial property market – developed over the last 30 years – means you’d be hard pushed to find a question about buying and selling commercial property that he doesn’t know the answer to. As well as being MD, Paul’s also one of our team of valuers and you’ll often find him negotiating the sales of the many different business

Our Sales Director, Stuart Moorhouse, has been with Ernest Wilson after joining the company from Barclays Bank in 1991 and starting as a Sales Negotiator. With a real passion for all elements of his job, Stuart is established as a very prominent figure in the business sales sector. His enthusiasm for the industry means that he’s developed a wealth of experience and quite a loyal following of clients, too!

Mark Czajka joined the firm in February 2019 after spending over 20 years running his own restaurant, bar and service businesses in both the UK and US. Having sold these businesses, Mark then became a valuer and corporate sales negotiator with a national firm. The wealth of experience gained from having operated his own businesses, coupled with his vast experience in consulting for other business owners, Mark understands business from a dual perspective and has developed a strong affinity with clients.

Joined July 2002. Michael Peel has marked his 21st year at Ernest Wilson, after joining us in 2002 as a Sales Negotiator. Now a Director and Valuer, Michael can usually be found handling the sales of high value businesses and properties with prices upwards of £500,000. He also oversees the sales of all business transactions through the company, deals with contract queries and chases those solicitors for completion!

Jason Payne joined Ernest Wilson in June 2022 after a career in commercial property and business sales. He is a Member of National Association of Estate Agents (Commercial) and an Associate of the National Association of Valuers & Auctioneers. As a former business owner, Jason has experience and an excellent track over a variety of sectors, he is very well placed to provide advice to clients.

THE NEW LINE MICRO PUB, BRADFORD PUT UP FOR SALE

The owners of a popular micro pub in Bradford say they have made the “bittersweet decision” to put it up for sale.

Paul Taylor and Barry Smith opened The New Line in Greengates in 2018 after lovingly refurbishing a 19th Century house.

They have now said the time is right to “hand over the reins to a new chapter” - but feel “saddened to part ways”.

The pair added they would “only sell to someone we think will continue to move The New Line to bigger and better things”.

In a statement, Paul and Barry said they had the “great pleasure of bringing so many wonderful times and memories to this little house we found run down in little old Greengates”.

They added: “We truly believe we have taken it as far as we can with the time and resources we currently have between us. So, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the bittersweet decision to put The New Line up for sale. Since 2018, we have poured our hearts and souls into this micro pub, cherishing every moment, every smile and every pint shared within these walls. While it saddens us to part ways, we believe it’s time to hand over the reins to a new chapter. Thank you to all our loyal customers, friends and supporters for being with us on this incredible journey. Let’s make the remaining days at The New Line ones to remember and toast to the new owners who will carry on its legacy. We will only sell to someone we think will continue to move The New Line to bigger and better things. See this not the end but a bright new beginning for that extra special enthusiastic someone. Cheers from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you so much.”

Commenting on the news on The New Line’s Facebook page, one punter said: “Well done lads. Done a great job of it!”

Another said: “Great job fellas. Hopefully it stays pretty much the same with new owners.”

Someone else added: “Great pub with great people - you’ve made an impact on the local community.”

Another customer commented: “Good luck with the sale and the next chapter.”

The micro pub is being marketed by Ernest Wilson Business Agents.

MUCH-LOVED SANDWICH SHOP UP FOR SALE

Popular Calderdale sandwich shop Bev’s Baps up for sale as owner retires after 15 years of running ‘fabulous little shop’.

Bev’s Baps, on Green Lane in West Vale, is one of the village’s longest-standing businesses.

Owner Tina Hand has been making tasty sandwiches there for 15 years but is now hanging up her apron and retiring.

“Running Bev’s for the past 15 years has been amazing and I’m sure its new owner will enjoy it as much as I have,” she said.

She described the business as “a fabulous little shop” and is keen for someone else to enjoying becoming “the new Bev”.

She says it is fully-equipped and fully-staffed and has a loyal customer base.

LEES POST OFFICE, OLDHAM FOR SALE

Lees Post Office that worked hard through Covid is for sale.

An Oldham Post Office that has been praised for its “incredibly hard” work through the pandemic is up for sale.

Lees Post Office, on High Street, has been dubbed “first class” by customers, has been placed on the market for £55,000 by Ernest Wilson Business Agents.

Listed on BussinessForSale, the store boasts an annual turnover of £40,300.

The listing read: “Well fitted Post Office with combined fortress counter and good product displays.

“The business is run in very easy hours over a five and a half day week, predominantly by staff at present.

“A new working owner could easily make savings here. Excellent and profitable card sales here and good Post Office commission of £45,000 which has shown recent growth.”

It continued: “Weekly retail turnover £750 to £800. Situated close to local car park and well supported by the local community.

“The premises are held on lease with sensible rent and briefly comprise double fronted sales shop with counters to the rear, staff kitchen and WC beyond.

The sale of the much-loved Post Office may come as a surprise to its customers, including Katelyn Mackenzie-Pilot who reviewed the establishment and left a recent review.

She said: “The most lovely staff. Working incredibly hard despite the pandemic.”

Katelyn was not the only endearing fan as Barbara Sinfield labelled it “first class”, while a resident who goes by the name of Seal boy_12 on Google added: “Exceptional service polite staff well stocked with all sorts. Won’t use anywhere else.”

The Post Office, where residents were able to tax their vehicles and exchange their money for foreign currency, was also held in high regard by James Taylor - who also left a recent review.

He said: “The Post Office staff are the most courteous and helpful you could ask for, I can highly recommend this Post Office from the postmaster to the ladies serving - I for one am fully satisfied.”
